ANTIOCH, Contra Costa County — October 26, 2026. Caltrans has listed a parcel of unimproved vacant land near State Route 4, San Jose Drive and Somerville Road in Antioch for a public auction scheduled Thursday, November 19, 2026.
Where to attend and how to learn the terms
The state lists the event as an oral public auction at its District 4 office, 111 Grand Avenue, Room 13-220, Oakland. The room in Oakland is the auction venue; the land itself is in Antioch near Highway 4. Caltrans supplies a separate brochure for the specific property with bidder instructions and any requirements or conditions.
A transport surplus property, not a guaranteed housing site
Caltrans’ summary identifies vacant land but does not establish whether it may be built on or which land uses are allowed. Before interpreting it as a development site, prospective buyers should check parcel boundaries, zoning, environmental conditions, access and availability of utilities. Auction results will only be known after the actual sale procedure; as of this October 26 notice, no winner is being reported.
The state says sales of surplus transportation properties are generally subject to final approval of the California Transportation Commission. Interested residents should obtain current information directly from Caltrans rather than rely on an undated advertising repost.
Official listing: Caltrans Properties for Sale or Lease — Antioch, November 19.
